📢 Black Friday in York – Stay Safe and Enjoy the Day

As York city centre gears up for Black Friday, we know many of you will be heading out to make the most of the shopping, offers, and festive atmosphere.

Our officers will be on patrol throughout the day, and we’re asking everyone to take a few simple steps to help keep yourselves and your belongings safe:

🛍️ Be mindful of crowds – The city centre will be busy, so please take your time, look out for those around you, and keep to well-lit, busy areas.

🔐 Protect your belongings – Unfortunately, busy events can attract pickpockets. Keep bags zipped, valuables out of sight, and wallets/phones in front pockets or secure bags.

👀 Stay aware – If something doesn’t feel right or you spot suspicious behaviour, speak to one of our officers or call it in.

Despite the crowds, Black Friday is a great opportunity to enjoy York’s shops, sights, and seasonal events. We want everyone to have a safe, enjoyable experience, so please take care—and have a fantastic day in the city.
